Welcome

canoesWelcome to the Seminole County Soil and Water Conservation District where our mission is to educate land users and water consumers, promote natural conservation technology and to provide the best land and water use management practices that will conserve, improve, and sustain the natural environment of Seminole County.

The Seminole Soil and Water Conservation District was created under Chapter 582 of the State's regulatory code. The individual districts are to act as a liason between other government agencies, private organizations, and the public at large. As a conservation district we are charged with providing service to the citizens of our county. As elected officials we are subject to the will of the people.

Aside from land management practices and general education and record keeping, our primary function is to seek the best policy for the future of Seminole County in regards to land and water use. Research and communitiy involvement are our strongest conduits to the community's needs and expectations.
